Franklin Dads,

Our FDC Franklin Beautification Day is fast approaching on Sunday, October 18th, from 8am-12noon. Here’s a perfect opportunity for our group to put some muscle into making our school clean and vibrant.

Project plan: This will be a clean-up/weeding/trimming day for the front of the school. No plantings will take place, (to be done a later date along with the PTA). The plan:

  • Remove the shrubs under the trees in the front planter box that runs between Trousdale and the school parking lot.
  • Trim the front hedges.
  • Weeding/landscaping clean up of the composite granite walk-way
  • Stretch: Install a drip water system in the front planter box that runs between Trousdale and the school parking lot. (We are looking at this in advance, and scoping a materials list ).

What You Provide: Bring yourself and your kids (yes, bring your kids — FDC is a big believer in Kid Power!) ! If you can, please bring work gloves, brooms, clippers and shovels, to ensure we’ve got all the tools we need. We especially need some powered (electrical or gas) hedge/bush clippers.

What We Provide: FDC will bring coffee, water and snacks. The Franklin Green Team is helping us with a dumpster for the green waste (thanks Green Team!).

This is a great collaborative effort with the PTA and Green Teams, and Lisa Booth and her staff are thrilled about this project, and we need a strong FDC turnout. Volunteers are needed – the more we get, the quicker we’re done! If you can’t make it right at 8am, no problem – we still need you! So please join us in helping the school in a very tangible and much-needed way.

Please RSVP using the form below by Monday, October 12th.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
